As Olympics fever takes over the world, Lumina was approached by Inc. Marketing to provide an interactive photographic activity which would engage shoppers at a Rio themed event in Sprucefield Centre.  On Saturday 13th August 2016 the mall was filled with colour and shoppers were treated to Samba dancing, giant games and some Olympic champion selfies via the Selfie Pod!

THE CONCEPT

The concept included shoppers being invited onto the Olympic podium to strike a pose and have their winning photo taken with an Olympic track background. Lumina designed and created bespoke branding to customise the Selfie Pod, so that it was on brand with Spricefield Centres’ clean image. All photographs were custom designed with a discreet Olympic theme and the Sprucefield Centre logo. Each shopper who visited the Lumina Selfie Pod, would received their own high quality, print, giving the centre maximum brand exposure.

RESULTS

Hundreds of shoppers visited the Lumina Selfie Pod and enjoyed the interactive photo experience, before going home with their very own Olympic medal print. From tots to teens and even the grand parents, everyone got into selfie mode, with over 600 branded images printed on site and distributed at the event.

The activity increased footfall to the centre and resulted in longer visiting times. The client was so please with the results, that they are looking at 2 further events before Autumn.
