Wedding trends Autumn 2017
So summer wedding season is coming to an end and style has been a huge focus of this year’s wedding trends. Soft and feminine glam has been a popular trend this year with princess dresses and ruffle fishtail coming out on top for dress styles. Below are some of the top wedding trends this year and a sneak peak at some of the Autumn and winter weddings you can expect to see in the coming months.
We may not always have the weather but more and more couples from Northern Ireland have opted for a more rustic feel for weddings with many choosing to hold their ceremony, reception or both in a marquee, incorporating foliage, barrels, wooden boards, lanterns and candles to create an intimate relaxed feel. Not forgetting that these marquees are often highlighted with being situated in some of the most breath taking views Ireland has to offer.
Entertain us!- couples are breaking away from traditional entertainment ideas and providing their guests with invites to the party of the year with multiple vendors to entertain from morning to night and increasingly even the next day! Selfie Mirrors are this year’s biggest entertainment trend. Most couples are choosing the Selfie Mirror because it’s fun and guests get to keep photos but also because these mirrors have various style options to fit in with any wedding theme.
Vintage- Vintage is a theme that has been explored to new ends this year with bride’s choosing vintage glam as their theme and a good indicator for this theme is in the invites. Glitter card and pearl embellishments are a sure sign that the bride will have a running vintage theme through her wedding. Easily adaptable for Autumn- rustic vintage is coming with colours moving from vintage rose to deeper warmer colours.
Stock up on tissues!- Flowers arrangements have bloomed to new proportions this year with couples opting to include flowers and arrangements much more in their decor. This creates a beautiful wow factor to the venue atmosphere. Peonies have been very popular in bouquets this year while bridesmaid bouquets have been downgraded somewhat to often baby breaths alone which are totally gorgeous and understated and no doubt will play a big part of winter weddings coming up soon.
As summer closes we say goodbye to long summer nights but look forward to cosy castle weddings, crisp winter mornings and venues making the most of the dark days with romantic lighting and hopefully a roaring fireplace with Christmas garland to give a wedding that festive feel.
